Rashied Ali walked the earth with a powerful and passionate presence. All his endeavors, his family, his music, and his friends, received his passionate dedication. As his drumming was multidirectional and rhythmical, so was his life. He walked many paths as a father, son, husband, mentor, and innovator. Raphael Cruz is a musician’s musician. As one of the first-call percussionists on the New York music scene, he has played with literally hundreds of the great stars of Latin, Jazz, Pop, Rock and R&B music. Several great bassists in Jazz came from Europe (Dave Holland, George Mraz, NHOP, Miroslav Vitous), but Joris Teepe is the first European musician from The Netherlands to be able to make it in NewYork. Arriving in New York in 1992 with just his bass and a suitcase, he quickly met many musicians, started to work a lot and a year later he recorded his first CD, co-led by Don Braden and featuring Cyrus Chestnut, Carl Allen and Tom Harrell. In Frank Noviello, we have a bonafide jazz vocalist adhering to a tradition of extemporaneous performance. Frank was born In Englewood, New Jersey. He began studying voice and drama at age five.
